WHO WE ARE:
The NAACP stands for the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, an American civil rights organization founded in 1909 to ensure political, educational, social, and economic equality for people of color and to eliminate racial discrimination through democratic processes, becoming America's oldest and largest civil rights group. It's known for its activism against social injustices, landmark legal cases, and ongoing advocacy for racial justice and equality for all people. We peacefully demonstrate "as one" in the name of justice and freedom for all citizens
Our Mission
Our mission is dedicated to the pursuit of political, social, and equality for Black Americans. We uphold our foundational principles of fairness and inclusion, which are the fundamental rights of all citizens. The NAACP is committed to actively addressing current issues, including: 1) Criminal Justice Reform confronting mass incarceration and ensuring accountability within law enforcement, 2) Rights - fighting against voter suppression and gerrymandering, and 3) Economic Equity - tackling the racial wealth gap and advocating for equitable healthcare access.
